These are great to use on baby as a diaper (hey save money and the planet at the same time...you know what grosses me out? Human waste rotting in our landfills..) After you wash and dry them they fluff up and become VERY soft and absorbant. I have used these on 3 children as a diaper (use with a waterproof cover for no leaks) and also as burp cloths and they ROCK!

These diapers are great to use if you want to save money. They have fit my son from 7.5lbs to the present at 23lbs (10 months), though they are harder to put on now that he is squirmy. They work well with Snappis and a diaper cover, as well as with the style of diaper covers that don't require Snappis or pins. They are absorbant, but now that my son has an increased and more forceful urine output, I use these Gerber prefold diapers with an added doubler for more absorbancy.

I give these diapers 4 stars for their quality. They hold up well in the wash, and have never pilled. They are soft and absorbant. However, there are better quality prefold diapers available, such as ones made with super-absorbant hemp sherpa, which never require doublers. All in all, these Gerber prefold diapers are an affordable way to do cloth diapering.

I've cloth diapered my son since day one (except when we moved across the country) and I wouldn't have it any other way. I never have a stinky garbage can and my baby has never had a diaper rash. You are supposed to shake the poopies in the toilet with disposibles as well as cloth because it is illegal to dispose of human waste in a landfill. Luckily there is a neat sprayer you can get to get everything in the potty and you never have to squish, dunk, or put your hand in the toilet.

As with ALL cloth diapers you must wash them several times to remove the waxy coating on the fabric or they will not be soft or absorbant. Baby can also get a rash if they are not properly cleaned before use or the wrong detergent is used. My son wore Motherease and these diapers until 3 months old and now he wears Kushies and these diapers. You don't even need to you PINS anymore! There are many alternatives to pins like Snappis. They are plastic and will never poke or stab baby.

As for the comment about why anyone would want to use cloth when we have more "advanced" things out now..... Some of us care enough about the great great grandchildren we will never meet to not destroy our planet with things like 'sposies. They do NOT decompose and will never do so and the human waste is a case of cholera waiting to happen.

These are almost worthless as cloth diapers. If you want to have a 1950s baby leaking out everywhere then get these. Otherwise do an internet search and find some quality modern cloth diapers.

I use these for burp cloths and lap pads- they work great and are very soft and absorbent. They also hold up to washing well- I would highly recommend them.

I started using these for cloth diapering with my first child. They hold plenty and have held up pretty well. the ones I havn't bleeched are still going strong after 6 years! These aren't as great as Chinese Prefolds but then again they are a little bit cheaper, trimmer and you can get them when you need them rather than having to wait a week for them to arrive in the mail. these are the best diapers sold in stores.

I make a lot of decorative burp cloths as gifts. These are the best diapers I have found so far. They are prefolded, but each section has an even thickness. They stay thick through washings, too. Very soft, very nice. I think they're great!

I have the chinese prefolds (premium 4x8x4) also, but they are very bulky and make a huge bubble butt for my daughter. None of her pants fit. These are a nice alternative since they are a little less bulky (4x4x4).I use them interchangable depending on if we are going out vs. staying home since the gerber ones are less absorbant. I use them with bummis covers - no pins or snappis required. My daughter is now 22lbs.

As for using these when there are more "modern" diapers out there. I will use the "modern" diapers once they find a way to get all the chemicals out of them and makes them biodegrade in way less time than the 500 years it takes them now. Disposables are such a shameless waste on our environment. Half of your garbage (lbs wise) goes towards disposable diapers.

If you are going to use these as a diaper, don't bother. These are not absorbent for even a newborn. Unbleached cotton works so much better. These also seemed to give my baby a rash.
